GeneLeaf

Terms of Service

Effective October 1, 2026

These terms apply to your use of the GeneLeaf website at www.geneleaf.com and the GeneLeaf pedigree editor at app.geneleaf.com (together, “GeneLeaf”). By signing in or using GeneLeaf you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use GeneLeaf.

Free service

GeneLeaf is offered free of charge. It is provided as is, as a convenience, and we may add, change or remove features, or suspend or stop the service, at any time.

Research and educational use only

GeneLeaf is provided for non-clinical research and educational purposes. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, genetic or diagnostic advice. Do not use it to make clinical decisions or to diagnose, treat or assess risk for any person. Any output, including diagrams and anything produced by the narrative analysis feature, may contain errors and should be checked by you.

No sensitive or patient data

Please do not enter protected health information, real patient information, or other sensitive personal data. Use fictional or fully de-identified examples. See our Privacy Policy for how GeneLeaf handles information.

Your account and your content

You sign in with a Google or Microsoft account. Please keep your account secure and use GeneLeaf lawfully. The pedigrees you create belong to you. GeneLeaf does not store them: they are held in your browser and saved to your device as files, so you are responsible for keeping your own copies. Lost or unsaved work cannot be recovered by us.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse GeneLeaf: for example, by attempting to disrupt or overload it, probing it for vulnerabilities, accessing it by unauthorized means, or using it to break the law or infringe the rights of others. We may restrict or end access for anyone who does.

No warranty

GeneLeaf is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, reliability, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GeneLeaf and its owners and contributors are not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, GeneLeaf, including lost data, lost profits, or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, even if we were told they were possible. You use GeneLeaf at your own risk. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes, including fees

We may change these terms, and may change or end the free service, at any time. This includes introducing fees, usage limits or paid plans for some or all features. We will update the date at the top of this page when the terms change. If you keep using GeneLeaf after a change, you accept the new terms.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information GeneLeaf receives and how it is used.
